The Wiesbaden-Chausseehaus forestry office is responsible for approx. 13,000 hectares of forest. Eight forestry districts are assigned to the forestry office, which has a team of 30 employees. In addition to the state forest, they also look after the forests of the towns of Idstein, Taunusstein and the municipalities of Niedernhausen and Waldems.
The main tree species are beech, spruce, oak and pine. The Aesculapian snake and the honey buzzard are of particular importance to us - the Wiesbaden-Chausseehaus forestry office has taken over the species sponsorship for them and promotes them with targeted measures. In the managed forests and open spaces, there are numerous protected areas of various types that serve different conservation purposes. With qualified management and special attention to habitats and species, the employees are dedicated to realising the defined conservation and development goals.
