Kibale Forest Conservation Project

Location:Kibale Forest, Uganda
SDG:Forest protection and reforestation
Certificate type:VCSDatabase
The Kibale Forest Conservation Project focuses on the conservation and sustainable management of the Kibale National Park in Uganda. This project aims to protect the forest from illegal logging, land conversion and other activities that could contribute to deforestation. It also includes reforestation measures to expand the forest area and preserve natural habitats.
The main objective of the Kibale Forest Conservation Project is to preserve the Kibale National Park and protect biodiversity in the region. Conserving the forest not only supports carbon sequestration, but also secures the livelihoods of a large number of plant and animal species. In addition, local communities are to be supported through sustainable development.
