Offset CO₂. And do a bit more.
Gold Standard project plus forest ecology in Germany and PROJECT TOGO. Measurable in the system. Visible on the ground. A combined approach.
What is this, actually?
A look at our combined project – how it is set up, what it includes, and why we structured it this way.
CO₂ offsetting is the foundation.
Your emissions are offset through a certified climate project (Gold Standard).
And then there is more:
Additional funds go into projects in Germany and into our PROJECT TOGO.
Important: These are two separate things.
The CO₂ offset remains clearly calculated and verified – the on-the-ground projects are a deliberate add-on.
How the combined project works
Step by step – without detours.
- 1
Calculate emissions
It starts with the CO₂ footprint. We calculate what is actually generated – for companies, products or specific activities. The basis: recognized standards like the GHG Protocol and reliable activity data.
- 2
Offset CO₂
The calculated emissions are offset through a certified climate project. In this case: a Gold Standard renewable energy project. Emission reductions occur in the power sector and are regularly monitored and verified.
- 3
Add a contribution
On top of the offset, a fixed amount per tonne is added. Clearly defined. Independent of the certificate purchase. This enables measures beyond standard offsetting.
- 4
Implement projects
The additional funds go into concrete projects: forest ecology in Germany and our PROJECT TOGO. This includes clean water, efficient cookstoves, reforestation and local development. All measures are implemented on site and supported long term.
- 5
Make impact visible
All steps remain transparent. You receive insights, images and regular updates. Not as a promise – but as documented progress.
The foundation: CO₂ offsetting (Gold Standard)
Reliably calculated. Independently verified. Clearly documented. CO₂ offsetting is the foundation of the combined project. This is not about ideas, but about measurable emission reductions. We use a certified climate project in the field of renewable energy, registered under the Gold Standard for the Global Goals. This standard is one of the established international frameworks for voluntary climate action.
How the climate impact is created
The project generates electricity from renewable sources and feeds it into the public grid.
This displaces electricity from fossil fuel-based power plants. The emission reduction happens exactly where energy is actually provided:
in the power system. How this is verified
The amount of electricity generated is continuously measured. Based on this, the avoided emissions are calculated using a defined methodology. These data are regularly reviewed and independently verified.
Only then are certificates issued and clearly documented in the registry. Why we work this way
CO₂ offsetting only works if it is traceable. That is why we rely on: recognized standards, clear methodologies, independent verification and transparent documentation.
In short
CO₂ offsetting matters.
But why stop there?
What we have already supported
What we have already supported
Alps, Rhön, Werdohl, Taunus, Hunsrück, Amrum, Harz, Bavarian Forest, Arnsberg Forest, Fichtel Mountains, Diepholz Moor.
What actually happens on the ground
→ Reforestation of damaged forest areas
→ Conversion into climate-resilient mixed forests
→ Maintenance of biotopes and forest edges
→ Restoration of waterways and peatlands
There is no one-size-fits-all concept.
The focus is on measures that make sense locally.
What matters
The projects are not publicly funded.
This ensures that the measures are truly additional – not something that would have happened anyway.
What has been achieved so far
Since 2012, we have invested around €542,000 in forest ecology projects in Germany. These are not promises, but implemented measures – across many regions and years.
Forests don’t become resilient in presentations.
They do so on the ground – tree by tree.

PROJECT TOGO: What happens on the ground
A project we don’t just fund, but built ourselves.
Part of the funds from the combined project goes to West Africa – into our PROJECT TOGO. Not a purchased project, but one we developed ourselves and have been supporting for years.
This is not just about climate action, but about practical improvements in everyday life. The measures are interconnected and implemented locally.
What we implement there
→ Construction of wells for safe drinking water
→ Efficient cookstoves to reduce firewood use and smoke
→ Training: agriculture, health, climate adaptation
→ Support for women’s cooperatives
→ Recycling and environmental projects
→ Development of a natural forest with diverse tree species
What it stands for
PROJECT TOGO is not a single project, but a long-term initiative.
It combines ecological, social and economic aspects – step by step.
Not a project from a catalogue.
But one we know, support and continue to develop.

Why we do it this way
Because climate action only works if it is done properly.
CO₂ offsetting makes sense. But it often remains abstract. At the same time, there are many things that should happen locally – and don’t, because funding is missing. That’s why we decided to combine both.
What matters to us
No exaggeration
→ We don’t claim more than we can prove.
Clear separation of impacts
→ CO₂ offsetting and additional projects serve different purposes – and are not mixed.
Traceability instead of promises
→ What we do can be explained, verified and shown.
Implementation instead of concepts
→ We work with projects that actually run – not ideas.
Why we take this approach
Because climate action has to work in practice.
Not just in reports, but in day-to-day business.
And because we are convinced: Calculation alone is not enough. Implementation is part of it.
We don’t make it bigger than it is.
But we don’t leave out what makes sense either.
Questions that usually come next
So you know where you stand.
With standard CO₂ offsetting, emissions are compensated through a certified climate project.
With the combined project, an additional fixed contribution is added, which goes into projects in Germany and into our PROJECT TOGO.No.
CO₂ offsetting is carried out through certified projects with clear calculation and verification.
The additional projects are separate and implemented independently.Yes – if the content is presented correctly.
The key is a clear distinction between CO₂ offsetting and additional measures.
This is exactly what we ensure in both implementation and communication.Through monitoring, defined methodologies and independent verification according to international standards (e.g. Gold Standard).
Certificates are only issued after verification and are documented in the registry.Together with local foresters.
What matters is that the measures are meaningful and not already publicly funded. It is not a purchased project.
We developed it ourselves and have been supporting it for years.
All measures are implemented locally and continuously developed.Yes.
You receive insights, images and regular updates on the implemented measures. For companies that want to offset CO₂ emissions and support additional measures.
For example as part of sustainability strategies, product solutions or events.
Combining climate projects:
CO₂ offsetting and additional measures
CO₂ offsetting is the foundation.
Based on a CO₂ footprint according to the GHG Protocol, emissions are calculated and offset through certified projects – for example under the Gold Standard. The emission reductions are measurable, verified and documented in the registry.
The combined project builds on this approach. In addition to offsetting, additional funds go into climate projects in Germany and into PROJECT TOGO.
In Germany, we support forest ecology projects – from reforestation to the development of climate-resilient mixed forests. In Togo, we implement our own measures: clean water, efficient cookstoves, reforestation and training.
This creates a clearly structured system: global emission reduction in the power sector and practical implementation on the ground.
