Clean energy from wind power – Xinjiang

Location:Alashankou, Xinjiang, China
SDG:Windenergy
Certificate type:VCSDatabase
The wind farm consists of 33 turbines with a total capacity of 49.5 MW. Every year, the farm feeds around 110,000 MWh of clean electricity into the north-west China power grid, replacing electricity from coal-fired power plants.
The project supports the reduction of air pollution and CO2 emissions by providing clean energy and thus displacing coal-fired power.

Other ways to engage

Our two favorite projects, PROJECT TOGO and Deutschland Plus, offer you numerous opportunities to actively contribute to climate protection - far beyond CO2 offsetting.
