Carbon offset projects: Where your money really works
Your customers ask: "Where does my money go?" In real VCS/Gold Standard projects. Solar, wind, forest - with certificate and details.
Your customers are asking about the carbon footprint of their event, your sales team finally wants to score points with "climate-neutral events", and it's getting complicated between CSRD requirements and sustainability goals: How do you calculate emissions at events? What all counts? And how do you avoid greenwashing accusations?
Are you familiar with this? Perfect, then you've come to the right place. As an event agency, you are not alone in facing these challenges. We help you not only to plan sustainable events, but also to document them transparently. We have been supporting companies with climate protection since 2007 - and recently also event agencies with customized software.
In plain language: from 2026, events may no longer simply be advertised as "climate neutral" if this is only based on CO₂ offsetting. No drama, because sustainable events are more than just offsetting anyway.
Much more important than offsetting is calculating the emissions of your individual events. Only then can you continue to offer your customers the offsetting of event emissions and report on this transparently. After all, emissions do occur - from travel, catering and technology. The key is to measure them, reduce them where possible and offset the unavoidable remainder.
So climate-neutral events still work. You just need to communicate honestly what's behind it.
Sustainable events have long been more than just regional caterers and reusable tableware. If you want to be credible and economically successful today, you need transparency. And this doesn't come from endless Excel spreadsheets, but from software that is specially designed for the needs of event agencies.
Our software solutions take the data chaos out of your hands and bring structure to your everyday sustainability work: you can keep an eye on CO₂ emissions and resource consumption - at the touch of a button, not just once a year for reporting. This allows you to see directly where the biggest sources of emissions are, where processes can be optimized and which adjustments you can really make.
The emissions of each individual event (incl. travel, catering, technology, location & waste, ISO-compliant).
With just a few clicks, you can create an automatic CO₂ factsheet for your events.
Would your customer like to know which travel option leaves the smallest carbon footprint? The software simulates various scenarios and shows which solution is the best choice for sustainable events.
Importing and exporting your event data works smoothly. The connection to our emissions database ensures that the data is correct.
Sustainable events are not rocket science. You just need the right tool.
You know your event, that's enough. Number of participants, location, planned catering - you already have the basics. We'll ask you for the rest.
Our job: to ask you the right questions. Guest travel, technical requirements, overnight stays - ecozoom.direct guides you through all relevant sources of emissions.
Now comes the point where it clicks. The software shows you where the biggest emissions occur. Spoiler: It is usually the participants' journey to the event.
Shuttle service instead of individual travel? Regional catering instead of long-distance imports? Simulate different scenarios and find the best solution for sustainable events.
With just a few clicks, you can create an automatic CO₂ factsheet for your event. Your customers will see in black and white what you have done for climate protection.
You take the first step in the calculation, we do the rest. Compensation via certified climate protection projects - with certificate of authenticity and unique label.
Less than you think. Basic data such as the number of participants, travel routes, type of catering and technical requirements are enough to get you started. The software automatically fills in any missing data with industry-standard average values.
No problem. You can adjust data at any time - more participants, different location, changed catering. The CO₂ balance sheet is updated automatically.
Of course you can. As long as you have the basic data - number of participants, location, rough catering concept - you can also calculate past events. Perfect for the annual review.
No. In the voluntary offsetting market in particular, it is trading in CO₂ certificates that enables certified climate protection projects to be financed and operated over long periods of time.
The Kyoto Protocol stipulates that certified climate protection projects for the voluntary market are only permitted in emerging and developing countries. We therefore combine international climate protection with forest ecology projects in Germany, which are implemented with regional forestry offices.
