What a completed monitoring period shows: For the period 01/08/2022–31/05/2023, the published monitoring report states 189,695.841 MWh of generated wind electricity and 107,973 t CO₂e of verified emission reductions. This is neither an up-to-date annual performance nor the total impact since the start of the project.
What the current status means: "Verification approval requested" is the procedural status shown in the Verra registry on the audit date. It is more precise than the general designation "registered" and, on its own, says nothing about the outcome of the ongoing audit or approval step.
Why estimation, issuance and retirement are not the same thing: 148,089 t CO₂e is the annual expected value stated in the registry. Issued VCUs are based on completed procedures. Active and retired units describe registry statuses – they do not yet imply a specific corporate allocation. The categories displayed in the registry do not sum up fully to the issued volume; no further status is derived from this without individual data.
02 · WHAT THE PROJECT PROVIDES FOR
Generate wind power, feed it into the national grid and record it traceably
When it comes to the carbon footprint, installed capacity is not the only thing that matters. The decisive factor is the amount of electricity generated within a specified period and fed into the interconnected grid system at the defined metering point.

Using wind in Nongwang
The project context describes 30 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 90 MW in the Nongwang subdistrict. According to the register, all turbines were commissioned on 16 March 2019.

Feed electricity into the grid
The electricity generated is fed into the Thai national grid. This does not mean that specific households, products or companies are supplied directly with this electricity.

Document creation
Measurement data on the volume of electricity fed in, calculation documents, and independent audits form the basis for the issuance of VCUs.
03 · HOW A UNIT IS CREATED
ACM0002 Version 19 establishes the methodological framework specified in the registry for grid-connected electricity generation from renewable sources.

Set baseline
The reference scenario describes how the corresponding amount of electricity would have been provided in the Thai electricity system without the project.

Measure electricity quantity
The electricity actually generated and fed in at the defined metering points is documented for the monitoring period.

Apply emission factor
The eligible amount of electricity is linked to the methodologically determined emission factor of the electricity system. Relevant project and leakage emissions are taken into account.

Verify and issue
Following independent auditing, VCUs with vintage and serial numbers can be issued in the registry. A subsequent retirement documents their specific use.

What can be described in addition to the VCU calculation
The VCS project framework quantifies greenhouse gas emissions. Energy, infrastructure, employment or environmental references require their own data and evidence; they do not follow automatically from an issued VCU.

90 MW of wind power in the national grid
The wind farm expands the grid-connected generation capacity from wind energy. Which conventional generation is offset in the reference case is methodologically considered via the baseline.
MONITORING
Generation at the defined metering point
The project documentation describes continuous measurement via the EGAT substation and monthly readings. Calibration and quality assurance are part of the data chain.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Operation over several years
The wind farm is a long-term energy infrastructure. Nevertheless, statements on security of supply or regional development require their own indicators and are not part of the VCU volume.
ENVIRONMENT
No combustion during plant operation
Wind energy does not require any fuel during operation. However, a complete environmental assessment would still need to include manufacturing, infrastructure, land use and end-of-life.
FOR COMMUNICATION
A link to renewable energy or the Sustainable Development Goals is not a comprehensive sustainability credential. What matters is which specific statement is supported by which indicator, which source, and over which time period.

Issued VCUs do not yet constitute an allocation to a company
The registry shows 431,188 issued and 124,065 retired VCUs. Concrete support only becomes traceable through unambiguous retirement for a beneficiary. A reliable allocation includes at least:
