PROJECT PROFILE · CERTIFICATE-BASED CLIMATE PROTECTION
VCS 1787 comprises 42 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 84 MW in Andhra Pradesh. This page separates the technical plant, measured grid feed-in, calculated emission reduction, certificate issuance and the subsequent allocation to a company.

WHY ABSENTEE DAYS MATTER
Availability is not a side note. It helps determine the calculable effect.
The project logic begins with repaired water points. However, emission reductions only occur on days when the pumps are functioning, in use and thereby prevent boiling water, which is assumed in the baseline.
That is why follow-ups, maintenance, repairs and documented downtime belong directly in the carbon footprint. This page makes exactly this connection visible.

TEST BENCH OF THIS PAGE

Note on currency: The registry continues to list the project as certified. A crediting period following the period that ended on 14/08/2024 is not visible in the public dataset. Registry category ISSUED: 15,093 VERs. Registry category RETIRED: 5,473 VERs. Registry summary as of 05/09/2026. The aggregated categories do not prove any specific customer allocation or current availability.
02 · WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PROJECT
50 water points – and each one needs a traceable operating period.
The project documentation describes 50 rehabilitated boreholes within the VPA. Water points are identified individually; the eligible period begins conservatively only after the rehabilitation. In the second monitoring, 2,025 additional people were recorded; this historical figure does not describe any current operating status.
01
Rehabilitation
Making existing pumps usable again. The project approach focuses on existing boreholes and hand pumps, which are repaired and integrated into the service concept.
02
Follow-up
Regularly monitor function. Inspections record operating status and repair needs. Water quality and usage are treated as separate inspection items.
03
Outage
Consider non-crediting days. Periods without functional supply are included in the calculation logic as Non-Crediting Days.
03 · HOW A UNIT IS CREATED
Each water point comes with its own start date, potential days of outage, and specific usage data.
01
Set baseline
Surveys determine what proportion of water would be boiled without the project, in what quantity, and using which fuels.
02
Determine the start for each tap
The first day of rehabilitation is not credited under conservative management. Crediting for the individual water point only begins on the following day.
03
Monitor function and failures
Follow-ups, maintenance and repairs document when a pump is available. Downtime days are excluded from the chargeable period.
04
Check usage and water quality
Access, actual use, and project-relevant water quality parameters contribute different parts of the chain of evidence.
05
Calculate avoided fuel
Baseline, operating hours, usage and methodological factors are combined to form the eligible emission difference and then verified.
04 · EVIDENCE AND LIMITS
Historical results tell us something concrete – but not everything.
The project documents contain values for specific monitoring periods. They are not generalised here into timeless project promises.
EMISSION REDUCTION
2,985 t CO₂e in the period mentioned
The verified value belongs to the monitoring period 16.08.2020–15.08.2021. It is not a general annual performance.
FUNCTION
Days of absence change the balance
A repaired pump can fail again later. Therefore, the operating status must be tracked over the relevant period.
WATER QUALITY
Tests apply to parameter and time
Water quality certificates do not allow a blanket guarantee for every water source and every subsequent day of use.
HEALTH
No automatic proof of health
Access to water and less smoke can be relevant. However, concrete improvements require their own indicators and surveys.
FOREST AND RESOURCES
No direct forest protection
Avoided fuel use is not to be equated with the protection of a specific forest area.
REGISTRATION NOTE
The current registry profile does not identify the project as CORSIA-eligible. An Article 6 authorisation, a corresponding adjustment, or CCP status is also not indicated there. Such characteristics may only be claimed for units that have been specifically verified.
05 · FOR SUPPORTING COMPANIES
A VPA requires a unique assignment within its programme.
A reliable allocation includes at least:
01
Project GS7456 and VPA 190 within the PoA GS1247
02
Quantity in t CO₂e and product type VER
03
Vintage or monitoring period
04
Serial numbers and unique register reference
05
Decommissioning date, beneficiary and purpose
06
applicable labels as well as project and test documentation
06 · CLASSIFICATION AND COMMUNICATION
What is documented – and what does not automatically follow from it
Project activity, registry unit and own emissions balance remain separate levels.
DOCUMENTED
NOT AUTOMATICALLY ALLOCATED
50 water points within the documented VPA scope
present-day function of all systems
historically considered non-crediting days
trouble-free operation after the monitoring period
VERs issued according to Gold Standard rules
Reduction of own corporate or product emissions
serial number-related decommissioning
Carbon neutrality of a product or company
methodically avoided boiling
guaranteed health benefit or direct forest protection
