CO₂e DATA FOR PAINTS, VARNISHES, ADHESIVES & SEALANTS

Some things you can see. Others you only notice when they don't last.

A varnish makes a surface visible. A coating protects it. An adhesive joins materials. A sealant keeps joints tight. Your CO₂e information should refer to the product that performs this task.

IN SHORT

Three questions. Three clear answers.

To make it immediately clear what is at stake for your print shop – and how you can turn order data into traceable CO₂ data.

01 · What is at stake for your industry?

Every job is different. Paper, format, print run and finishing all play a part in determining the CO₂e information that a printed product carries.

02 · Why is CO₂e data becoming relevant in your industry?

Customers want values for the exact order or variant they are procuring – not for an abstract average.

03 · What specifically does natureOffice enable?

ecozoom combines order, material and production data into documented CO₂e information that can be carried forward for recurring orders.

WHY

Your impact is concrete. Your data must be too.

Paints, varnishes, adhesives, and sealants are not interchangeable commodities. They differ in application, formulation, packaging, raw materials, and properties. Anyone asking about them therefore does not need an abstract figure for an entire product world.

A good answer does not just describe a value. It describes what this value is based on.

01

Make visible.

Paints and varnishes shape how a surface or product is perceived. Their CO₂e information therefore requires a clear product assignment.

02

Protect.

Coatings protect materials from the effects of use, weather or time. Data must make the reference value easy to understand.

03

Connect & seal.

Adhesives and sealants turn individual parts into a functioning unit. This specific task is the starting point for comprehensible product information.

THE RIGHT QUESTION

The question is not: 'How much CO₂?'

The question is: "What exactly are we talking about?" Only when the balance sheet object and reference value are clear does CO₂e information become useful for customers, sales, and product management.

PRODUCT

One litre of paint. One kilogram of adhesive. One cartridge of sealant. Or another clearly defined unit.

CONTEXT

System boundary, period, data sources and assumptions make it understandable what the information refers to.

RESULT

Don't claim to be bigger. Explain better.

CONTINUE

What changes should remain sustainable.

Product data must not start from scratch with every adjustment. A sensible data logic keeps recurring fundamentals together and supplements changes where they actually happen.

This is how a single calculation becomes a foundation for product families, variants and subsequent updates.

Raw Materials & Packaging

Recurring data sources are structured in a meaningful way.

02

Products & Product Families

Shared foundations remain usable, differences visible.

TWO PERSPECTIVES

A product is not the whole company.

Some enquiries relate to a specific colour, coating, adhesive or sealant. Others are aimed at your company. Both perspectives can be based on the same database – but they answer different questions.

One common database. Two different answers.

WHAT WE CONTRIBUTE

From the formulation to traceable information.

With ecozoom and personal support, we help you to build up product data in such a way that you don't just stop at a single calculation.

01

Find reference level

We clarify which reference unit and which system boundary describe the product comprehensibly.

02

Merge data

Raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing become a logic that suits your products.

03

Share information

For data sheets, tenders, customer inquiries, and internal decisions – traceable and updatable.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

CO₂e information is not a quality rating.

We don't turn your CO₂e data into a seal of approval. We show what stands behind it.

Documented CO₂e information states what was calculated, what it relates to, and which bases were used. It does not automatically mean that a product is better, climate-friendly, or more environmentally compatible. Voluntary project support is documented separately and alters neither PCF nor CCF.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A good start is concrete.

Do we need to calculate each product individually?

No. Renewable raw materials, packaging, and product bases can be structured in a meaningful way. Differences between products and variants remain visible in the process.

Which reference value is the correct one?

The one that describes your product in an understandable way: such as kilograms, litres, cartridges, containers, or another clearly defined unit.

What happens in the event of recipe or packaging changes?

The database is further developed at the point where something has changed. This turns a one-off figure into a usable system.

What do our customers receive?

Objective CO₂e information for a clearly defined product – including reference value, system boundary, time period, methodology, as well as data sources and assumptions.
