ecozoom for print shops
CO₂ data for printed products. For the moment when your customer specifically asks.
Brochure, mailing, packaging or annual report: run, paper, volume, colour, finishing and dispatch are already in your order. We turn these into transparent CO₂ data.
And the documents that your customer can actually use for their website, tender or communication.
According to the calculated order
Two optional packages. Clearly separated. Can be booked individually or together.
The calculation is the basis. After that, you and your customer decide which documents and which additional support are suitable for the specific print job.

Communication
Communication set
Text blocks for website, product, offer or report – with a clean separation of statements.
Prove · Make visible · Explain. The climate contribution does not change the calculated PCF.
Voluntary instead of mandatory. The data package provides the basis. The climate contribution complements a voluntary, separately documented commitment – without offsetting against the CO₂ result.

Why this path is needed
A value alone does not answer a question.
Today, your customers are not simply asking for a 'climate-neutral print product'. They want to understand what a figure refers to – and whether they can use it responsibly in their communication.
This is exactly where your role as a print shop begins. You are not just passing on a print product. You are enabling your customers to understand and make meaningful use of CO₂ data.
01
How high are the calculated emissions of my spend?
02
What exactly does this number refer to?
03
Can I use them on my website or in the report?
04
What is possible if we would also like to support a project?
Two clearly separated pieces of information
Facts for the print product. Attitude beyond that.
A CO₂ footprint describes a printed product. Voluntary project support describes an additional decision by the company. Both can be useful. Both are not the same.
01 · THE PRINTED PRODUCT
The PCF for the specific order
Paper, run size, page count, colours, finishing, production and shipping: a Product Carbon Footprint is generated from the data of a defined print job. Reference value, system boundary, data status and methodology are documented in a traceable manner.
You will receive: PCF + Key Fact Sheet
02 · BEYOND THAT
Voluntary Project Engagement
If your customer additionally wishes to support a project, this commitment will be commissioned and verified separately – for example, as certificate-based support or as direct project support such as PROJECT TOGO.
Important: It does not change the PCF.
The path for print shops
Closer to the brief. Thought through to publication.
For a printed product, the specific output is what matters. Therefore, the process does not end with the calculation.
01
Describe print job
You enter the key details of the print product: print run, paper, number of pages, colours, finishing, production and shipping.
02
Calculate and document PCF
ecozoom calculates the PCF for the defined print job and documents its basis in the key fact sheet. The result remains linked to the product and reference unit.
03
Hand over documents to your customer
You are not just passing on value, but the appropriate foundation for it: a key factsheet, text templates, and a clear handover email.
04
Approve communication specifically
If your customer wishes to use the data in the catalogue, online or in the report, the specific application is agreed upon. This ensures that the product, reference unit, text and medium remain clearly linked.
What your customers receive from you.
Documents that do not just show a value, but make its use comprehensible.
01
Key factsheet PCF
CO₂ data for the printed product at a glance: reference value, system boundary, methodology, and data status.
02
Text templates
Prepared factual formulations for website, catalogue, offer or accompanying text.
03
Handover to Customer
A template that clearly explains which documents are available and what they are intended for.
+
For project support
Separate evidence for the selected project, such as number plates with QR codes, tracking, and contribution records.

HOW YOUR CUSTOMER CAN TALK ABOUT IT
Clearly state what is there. And what is not.
The communication sticks to the facts: a specific print product, a documented PCF and – if commissioned – a separate engagement.
TO THE PRINT PRODUCT
"A CO₂ footprint has been determined for this printed product. The calculation refers to the defined reference value and system boundary. Data status, methodology and further details are documented in the key fact sheet."
FOR ADDITIONAL PROJECT SUPPORT
"A carbon footprint has been calculated for this print product. In addition, we voluntarily support [Project Name]. Carbon data and project commitment are reported separately."
CO₂e labels in different formats
For printed products, digital notices and QR-based information.

DO NOT USE
"climate neutral", "compensated", "offset" or "climate friendly", if the statement is based on support outside the value chain.
WHY THE PATH IS CLEARER TODAY
We do not turn your CO₂ data into a seal of approval.
We show what lies behind it.
Information instead of awards
The CO₂ label indicates available information. It is not a seal of sustainability and does not evaluate the printed product.
Engagement without billing
Project involvement can enable a great deal. However, it does not change the calculated emissions of a print product and is therefore reported separately.
Publication with a clear reference
The product, reference value, text and application medium must match. This is why we support the handover process right up to the final approval.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is often asked first.
Can we also commission just one PCF?
Yes. The PCF can be created and communicated as objective product information without voluntary project support.
Does every print job need to be recalculated?
If key specifications change – such as paper, print run, page count, finishing or distribution – it should be checked whether files and documents need to be updated.
Does a print product become climate-neutral through project support?
No. Voluntary project support does not change the PCF. It is therefore reported separately.
Is the CO₂ label allowed on the printed product?
If it was provided for the specific order and the QR code, URL or tracking ID lead to the relevant information, it can be used as an indication of available CO₂ data. It informs – it does not award a seal of approval.
